The Sale of Liquor Act 1989 is very clear when it comes to the subject of intoxication.
Those of you that have done or are working through a managers or LCQ qualification will know this:
It's illegal to sell or supply liquor to an intoxicated person.
It is illegal to allow a person to become intoxicated.
It is against the law to allow drunkenness or disorderly conduct on licensed premises.
These are Sections 166, 167 and 168 of the Act.
The only flaw in this legislation is that it doesn't define intoxication.
It is the role of this website to help you come to terms with the concept and idea of intoxication as it applies to you.
The site will offer tools and tips to help you keep your customers safe, within the bounds of the law, and to keep your environment safe for other patrons.
